Almost one third of the world’s population – nearly 2 billion people – is under the age of 18. In a developing country, like Colombia, half of the population is children. Most children in a developed country have a bright future. They get good education, health assistance and many good things but…

  • Some 100 million girls and boys live on the streets.
  • 250 million children are working today.
  • About one million children are exploited as prostitutes.
  • Almost eighty percent of children haven’t had the opportunity to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ.

World's Children Report of the UNICEF and CODHES  issued a group of figures, which reflect concrete conditions in the following aspects:

  • 10 million boys and girls live in poverty. 35 thousand of those children live on the streets.
  • Everyday 7 children get murdered
  • 40 thousand boys and girls are exploited in prostitution and pornography.
  • Educate yourself about children in poverty
  • Increase awareness of the needs of impoverished children around the world.
  • Pray to God for children
  • Join people who advocate children and create greater impact for needy children, utilizing their time, talents and influence.
  • Encourage others to make this world a better place for children
  • Listen to children when they talk about their ideas, needs and concerns
  • Read the Bible and learn what God says about children
  • Give each child the opportunity to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ and to accept Him as their personal Lord and Savior.

Child advocacy begins with understanding poverty and children’s potential. It is to use influence to raise awareness of the needs of impoverished children and encourage others to work for children.

Child advocates are people who desire to lend their voices to the millions of children in our world unable to speak for themselves.
